Gavaskar told Star Sports- I think Delhi Capitals would like Rishabh Pant back in their team. Sometimes, when a player has to be retained, there are negotiations between the franchises and the players regarding the expected fees. As some of the players who have been retained by their franchises have demanded a higher No. 1 retention fee. So obviously I think there might be some disagreement there, but I think Delhi would want Rishabh Pant back.
Talking about IPL retention, Delhi Capitals retained four players before the IPL 2025 auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. They retained Axar Patel for Rs 16.5 crore, Kuldeep Yadav for Rs 13.5 crore, South African star all-rounder Tristan Stubbs for Rs 10 crore and uncapped wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel for Rs 4 crore.
