IPL 2024 Playoffs: IPL 2024 has now reached its final stage. From the playoffs, two teams have qualified for the IPL 2024 playoffs. Meanwhile, today we are going to take a look at those Indian players who have taken the team to the playoffs in the very first season of their debut as captain.
1. SS Dhoni

Team India’s former explosive opener Virender Sehwag captained Delhi Capitals in IPL 2008. Sehwag had taken the team to the playoffs in his first season itself.
3. Yuvraj Singh
Like Dhoni and Sehwag, the Punjab Kings team reached the playoffs in the first year under the leadership of captain Yuvraj Singh.
4. Anil Kumble
In IPL 2009, RCB managed to reach the playoffs under the leadership of Anil Kumble.
5. Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh led Mumbai Indians in the 2012 IPL. He took Mumbai to the playoffs in his first season as captain.
6. Rohit Sharma
Mumbai Indians’ most successful captain, Rohit Sharma led the team to the playoffs in his very first season as captain and also led Mumbai to their first IPL title.
7. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina captained the Gujarat Lions in 2016 and led the Lions to the playoffs in his first season as captain.
8. Ajinkya Rahane
In 2018, the responsibility of captaining Rajasthan Royals was on the shoulders of new captain Ajinkya Rahane, who took the team to the playoffs.
9. Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik captained KKR in the year 2018 and in his first season as captain, he took KKR to the playoffs.
10. Shreyas Iyer
