The first season of Delhi Premier League (DPL) is starting from 17 August. Through this league, young players from Delhi and across the country will get a chance to showcase their talent. Indian young player Ayush Badoni, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL, will be seen playing for Shikhar Dhawan’s team South Delhi Superstars in DPL. Ayush Badoni has recently made a big statement expressing his excitement about playing in the league. He has given DPL the status of mini IPL.

Playing such matches always increases confidence- Ayush Badoni

Ayush Badoni described the Delhi Premier League as a mini IPL and said,

The Delhi Premier League will provide great experience to the players. For me, it will be a mini IPL. Playing such matches always boosts confidence. This will give me and the Delhi cricketers a good experience.

Players like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Harshit Rana and Yash Dhull will be seen in the Delhi Premier League. Ayush Badoni is very excited to share the stage with star players in the upcoming league. He said,

Delhi players are known for their aggressive cricket. So the DPL will be very competitive and fun to watch for cricket fans. The thing that excites me the most about the league is playing against Ishant Sharma. We always have this conversation that he will get me out, I tell him that I will hit him for a six, so it will be fun to play against him.

Badoni then spoke about his team South Delhi Superstars owner Shikhar Dhawan and said,

After the players draft, Shikhar bhai spoke to me and we have been constantly talking about the team and our preparations. He is very confident about the team we have and the atmosphere is quite comfortable. We are looking forward to playing and lifting the DPL trophy.

A total of 6 teams will participate in the league

A total of 40 matches will be played in the first season of the Delhi Premier League, 33 in the men’s category and 7 in the women’s category. A total of 6 teams will participate in the league, including South Delhi Superstars, Old Delhi 6, Central Delhi Kings, North Delhi Strikers, West Delhi Lions and East Delhi Riders.
