The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has asked its players to join the national team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 next month. Some of them have already left their respective Indian Premier League (IPL) teams, while others are on the verge of doing so. The England team is the defending champion of the T20 World Cup, having won the last edition of the tournament in 2022.
In such a situation, the England team will again go to defend the title in the T20 World Cup to be held next month. After the decision of ECB, many England players have left their team in the middle of the IPL season., Most of the players have already returned home to take part in the three-match T20 series against Pakistan. The rest of the players who are part of the team will also leave India soon for national duty.
Irfan Pathan angry at England players
England captain Jos Buttler, Will Jacques, Liam Livingstone, Reece Topley and Phil Salt have returned to England. Now Sam Curran will also return to England soon. Some cricket experts including experienced batsman Sunil Gavaskar did not like this. After Gavaskar, Irfan Pathan has also issued a stern warning to those players who are leaving this glorious league in the middle of the season.
Pathan, a former India all-rounder, said that players should either be present for the entire IPL season or they should not come to play at all. Expressing displeasure over this, Irfan Pathan wrote a post, “Either be available for the entire season, or do not come.”
Either be available for full season or don’t come!

Irfan Pathan vented out his anger on the foreign players and Rajasthan Royals bore the brunt of the lack of star players. Royals could not get the services of their veteran opener Jos Buttler against Punjab Kings. Rajasthan Royals suffered a five-wicket defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings with 7 balls remaining. This was the fourth consecutive defeat for Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals.
