The West Indies cricket team is on a tour of England for a three-Test match series. The first match of this Test series starts on July 10. The England-West Indies first Test match is being played at cricket’s most prestigious Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.

Both the teams are now directly challenging each other in the longest format of cricket after being out of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Lord’s Test match is also special because this match will be the last match of England’s great fast bowler James Anderson’s international career as he has announced his retirement.

The England cricket team is led by all-rounder Ben Stokes, while the West Indies team is led by Craig Brathwaite. Talking about the match, England won the toss and Ben Stokes decided to bowl first in overcast conditions.

England fast bowler Gus Atkinson made a brilliant start to his Test career. He bowled a superb delivery to dismiss West Indies captain Craig Brathwaite (6 runs), ending his innings and giving his team a chance to take the lead in the match.

Atkinson bowled a good length delivery outside off-stump and Brathwaite tried to hit it and got out. He played the shot away from his body but the ball went in and he paid the price for it by getting out. Brathwaite bowed his head in disappointment as soon as he realised that the ball had hit the stumps. Brathwaite probably knew that he could have played it better.
