England gave a grand farewell to James Anderson, the experienced fast bowler bid farewell to cricket with a victory at Lord’s


England defeated West Indies by an innings and 114 runs in the first Test match played at Lord’s, London.

In the first Test match played at Lord’s in London, England defeated West Indies by an innings and 114 runs. In this match, all the players from England performed very well and played an important role in their team’s victory. Not only this, James Anderson also bid farewell to international cricket with a victory. James Anderson has retired from international cricket.

Let us tell you, in the first Test, England won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. West Indies batted first and scored 121 runs in their first innings after losing all wickets. For the team, Mikyle Lewis scored 27 runs in the first innings while Kavem Hodge contributed 24 runs. Alick Athanaze played an innings of 23 runs while Alzari Joseph scored 14 runs.

Playing his debut match for England, Gus Atkinson took 7 wickets in the first innings while captain Ben Stokes, James Anderson and Chris Woakes took one wicket each.

England scored 371 runs after losing all wickets in their first innings. Wicketkeeper batsman Jamie Smith scored 70 runs for the team while experienced batsman Joe Root scored 68 runs. Zak Crawley contributed 76 runs while Ollie Pope scored 57 runs. Harry Brook contributed 50 runs. Jaden Searles took four wickets in the first innings for West Indies.

England won the first test

The West Indies team failed to bat well in the second innings as well and was all out for 136 runs. In the second innings, Gudakesh Moti scored the highest 31* runs for the team. Apart from Moti, Alick Athanaze contributed 22 runs while Jason Holder scored 20 runs.

In the second innings too, Gus Atkinson bowled brilliantly and took 5 wickets. He took a total of 12 wickets in his debut match. James Anderson took three wickets in the second innings while captain Ben Stokes took two wickets. England is leading 1-0 in the three-match Test series.
