Ashwin’s contribution was not just in his skill but also in the skill of other players, not only on the field but also off the field – Baba Indrajit
Dindigul Dragons (DD) have captured their first Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) title under the captaincy of Ravichandran Ashwin. The team reached the playoffs by finishing fourth in the points table, and they had to win three consecutive matches to win the trophy.
Captain R Ashwin led the team from the front by scoring half-centuries in all three matches. Dindigul Dragons batsman Baba Indrajeet is not tired of praising Ashwin’s excellent captaincy. He also revealed that winning the IPL title as a captain is Ashwin’s biggest dream.
As a captain, he dreams of winning the IPL trophy- Baba Indrajit
Baba Indrajit while talking in an interview given to Cricket.com said,
Of course, everyone will look at him as a captain, he has a very good cricketing brain. He is always thinking about rising above being a batsman or bowler. He has all the qualities of leadership, I think as a captain he has a dream of winning the IPL trophy, so why not.
Ravichandran Ashwin has captained the IPL franchise Punjab Kings in 2018 and 2019. However, the team could not reach the playoffs in both the seasons.
Baba Indrajit further said,
His involvement was not just in his skills but also in the skills of other players, not only on the field but also off the field. In the last 30-35 days, including the camp (10 days), he was involved the whole time. From the first person to the 20th person, he was involved with everyone and constantly motivated them to improve their fitness and strength. I don’t think any head coach would have worked as much as him.
