Former Indian cricket team wicketkeeper batsman Robin Uthappa has recently made a big statement about mental health. He has also told how it troubled him in the year 2011.
It is worth noting that recently former cricketers David Johnson and Graham Thorpe died after suffering from mental depression for years. But now the 38-year-old former cricketer has spoken openly on the importance of mental health. Giving an example, Uthappa said that a person should always focus on that day and the present time, and should not think too far ahead.

Let us tell you that recently Uthappa has talked about mental health on his YouTube channel. Uthappa said – We are going to talk about depression and suicide. We recently heard about Graham Thorpe and David Johnson. VB Chandra Shekhar sir who was the rock of CSK. I have been there too, and it was not a memorable journey. It (mental depression) is debilitating, you feel like you are a burden to the people you love. It is challenging and you feel like you are less valuable.
Uthappa further said- In 2011, I was very ashamed of my existence as a human being. It is absolutely okay that you do not know what to do next. Sometimes just being there for that one day takes you forward. Often you do not need the light at the end of the tunnel. You only need the light on the next step.
We have heard of many people who ended their lives due to depression. I have personally felt this. When I was going through clinical depression, I often felt like I was a burden. I was looking for answers.
