The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most awaited cricket tournaments of the year. Just before the start of IPL 2024, former Indian wicketkeeper and Mumbai Indians scout Parthiv Patel has made headlines for his recent tweet. Through that tweet, Patel has made fun of those players who get injured before the IPL and become fit as soon as the IPL comes.

In these, he indirectly targeted Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. Star all-rounder and Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was away from cricket since October 2023 after suffering an ankle injury during the ODI World Cup against Bangladesh.

KL Rahul has also been injured often. Due to injury, he was missing important series of his career including the India vs England Test series last year. Shreyas Iyer was also out of the tour due to an injury suffered during the England series. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan had taken a break from cricket due to mental fatigue. But all these players made themselves fit before IPL.

Former fast bowler Praveen Kumar had recently expressed his concern saying that IPL has become a priority for many players. Players even leave international cricket to play in this league. In the meantime let us tell you that, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will play the first match of IPL 2024 on March 22 in Chennai.
