Team India has started its preparations for the T20 World Cup 2024 by reaching USA. Young batsman Shubman Gill has not been able to make it to the Indian main squad. He is in the traveling reserve along with Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed. The selectors have given preference to Yashasvi Jaiswal instead of Shubman Gill.

However, former England player Eoin Morgan says that if he had selected the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, he would have put Shubman Gill before Jaiswal.

Cricket commentator Eoin Morgan says that he has played with Shubman Gill, and he knows very well about the mindset of the young batsman. Morgan believes that Gill is the future leader of Team India, so he should have been selected in the team.

Eoin Morgan, while talking on Sky Sports, said, ‘My only decision would have been different and if I was selecting the team, I would have picked Shubman Gill over Yashasvi Jaiswal. I have played with him, I know how he thinks and how he works. I think he is the future leader of that team and in big occasions, in World Cups, the more leaders there are the better. Even if he is sitting on the side, you still need motivation, positive spirit here and there.

India is Eoin Morgan’s favorite team in T20 World Cup 2024. Morgan believes that the Indian team is very strong, even if they have to face injuries, it will still be a strong team.
