Thanks to this inning, Yashasvi has left his mark in the cricket world. Because of his brilliant innings against England, he is being counted among the stars of the future.

While batting and facing James Anderson for the first time, Yashasvi said, I was not thinking much. When I saw the wicket, I had in my mind how it was playing. Rohit and I were discussing this when I played Anderson’s first over. Gradually I understood how the wicket was behaving and where I could score runs.
He said that I should continue working hard – Yashasvi Jaiswal
On coming close to a double century, Yashasvi said that last time, when I scored 171 runs (against West Indies), I wanted to convert it into a double century, but it did not happen. I always try to play for the team. I felt the wicket was very good and if I show patience I can play a big innings. We lost wickets in the beginning, so I thought I should take responsibility and play till the end.
On Sachin Tendulkar’s congratulatory tweet, Yashasvi said, I have spoken to Sachin sir. He congratulated me and told me to continue working hard as this is a very important time. Consistency is very important. I will always admire him as my role model.
On his conversation with the coach and captain, he said that my discussion with Rohit, Rahul sir and Vikram sir was that if a batsman gets set, he should play till the end. This was my attempt too. Whoever is performing that day should try to get the job done for the team. We believe in each other and are working hard together.
