“He should not play T20 cricket anymore…”- Former Indian player scolded Babar Azam


In the T20 World Cup 2024, captain Babar Azam has scored only 122 runs in four matches for the team.

The T20 World Cup 2024 has been nothing less than a nightmare for Pakistan. In the first two matches, the team had to face embarrassing defeats against the USA and India. Then in the match against Canada, the team kept the hopes of Super-8 alive by registering its first win. But the team suffered a major setback when the match between the USA and Ireland was cancelled due to rain.

The runner-up of the last edition was out of the Super-8 race even before playing the last match of the group stage round. Pakistan will have to play a qualifier tournament to participate in the next T20 World Cup. Babar Azam has been everyone’s target ever since Pakistan was eliminated from the T20 World Cup.

Be it captaincy or personal performance, fans and veteran players are trolling Babar fiercely. Meanwhile, former Indian veteran player K. Srikkanth has given a big statement about Babar. Srikkanth says that Babar Azam should not play T20 cricket anymore. He has also raised questions about the strike rate.

Cricket expert K. Srikkanth, while talking about Babar Azam during Cricket Live on Star Sports before the Pakistan vs Ireland match, said,

,I don’t think Babar should play T20 cricket. I mean you can’t do this tuk-tuk all the time in T20 cricket. They say Babar scored 4,000 runs like Virat or Rohit, but his strike rate is only 112-115.

Pakistan somehow managed to win by 3 wickets while chasing 107 runs in the last match of the group stage against Ireland. The team had lost 7 wickets at a score of 95. Babar Azam then led the team to victory by playing an unbeaten innings of 32 runs in 34 balls at a strike rate of 94.12. In the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, captain Babar Azam has scored only 122 runs in four matches for the team.
