Virat Kohli has not been able to give his best performance in the longest format of the game for some time. His last Test century came in 2023. In the last five years, he has scored only two centuries, which is very low by his standards. After India lost its first Test series on home soil against New Zealand last week, 35-year-old Virat’s performance has also come under question.

Seeing this disappointing performance of Virat Kohli, former cricketer Dinesh Karthik has advised him to play domestic cricket. Karthik believes that Kohli is a player who likes challenge. Now in the Test series against New Zealand, he is seen struggling to score runs against the spinners. However, Karthik is confident that Virat will soon give a befitting reply to his critics.

Dinesh Karthik gave important advice to Virat Kohli to get back in form.

Speaking to Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik said, “It has not been easy for Virat Kohli, this series has not been good for him, he has disappointed in three out of four innings. This is obviously a match where the spinners have troubled him, and I think he’ll figure out what he needs to do to get stronger.

He is a man who is searching for answers. When you reach that level of talent and super stardom, you are given challenges and here is another challenge. India like to play on spin-friendly pitches, what is their gameplan?”

He further said, “We all know what he is capable of, but this series was not for him. As fans are saying, he hasn’t done this in a long time and we can’t run away from it. We don’t want to hide it because we want to be objective in assessing any player, his performance. At present, Virat Kohli’s Test record in the last 2-3 years has not been good against spin.
