Hosting of Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2024 awarded to Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub


The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2024 will be played from April 21 to May 7.

Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub has been selected to host the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2024. This fantastic tournament will be played in the months of April and May. The top 2 teams of this tournament will participate in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in the months of September and October this year.

The host nations UAE, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, USA, Zimbabwe and Vanuatu will take part in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2024. The 2022 edition of the tournament was also played at the Abu Dhabi Cricket and Sports Hub with Bangladesh and Ireland having qualified.

This year, five teams each will be divided into two groups. Double header matches will be played on two different pitches. These matches will be held at Zayed Cricket Stadium and Tolerance Oval. Bumrah took 8 wickets in both the innings of that Test match and for this he was chosen Player of the Match. In the match, India achieved a spectacular victory within four days and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
