The England and Wales Cricket Board has recently appointed Brendon McCullum as the head coach of England’s white ball cricket team. Let us tell you, England performed very well in Test cricket under the coaching of Brendon McCullum and this is the reason why the board has now entrusted another important responsibility to Brendon McCullum.

Brendon McCullum is also fully prepared to take up this post. Before Brendon McCullum was appointed as the head coach, England had won only one match out of 17 in Test cricket. However, during his tenure, the team has won 19 out of 28 Tests. Brendon McCullum will remain the coach of all three formats of England till the end of 2027.

In the press conference before the third Test against Sri Lanka, Brendon McCullum said, ‘After getting important responsibility, my workload also increased but I am very excited for the upcoming challenge. I will be very happy with the result and if things do not go in my favor, then I will stand in front of the gun.

2 years ago I had no idea about English cricket at all. I did not know about the relationship with the players. But in these 2 years, I have had a very good time and I am loving this position a lot. I have also come to know about the talent of English cricket and in the coming time, I would like to give opportunities to as many players as possible.

The schedule is getting a lot easier now: Brendon McCullum

Brendon McCullum further said, ‘If we talk about the schedule, then things have become much easier now. The last 2 years were very difficult but now the entire responsibility has been handed over to one person. My endeavour will be that the players do not face any problems and they are seen performing well in all formats.’

Brendon McCullum’s tenure as head coach of the limited overs format will begin with the Indian tour in January 2025.
