England’s white ball captain Jos Buttler will not be able to participate in the three-match T20 series against Australia due to injury. Phil Salt will be seen captaining the England team in place of Jos Buttler in this three-match T20 series.

Not only this, after the T20 series, a 5-match ODI series is also to be played between these two teams and it seems difficult for Butler to participate in that too. Due to injury, this experienced wicketkeeper batsman was also not seen playing in The Hundred tournament.

Butler himself is unhappy that he will not play in the T20 series against Australia. The experienced player has shared a story on his official Instagram account in which he wrote, ‘I am very angry that I will not be able to participate in the upcoming series due to injury. But I am working hard to recover from this.’

Jos Buttler was last seen playing in the T20 World Cup 2024. England were defeated by India by 68 runs in the semi-final match of this important tournament. However, Jos Buttler was the highest run-scorer for England. He scored 214 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 158.51.

Now Phil Salt will be seen playing an important role in the England team in place of Jos Buttler. Not only this, brilliant all-rounder Jamie Overton has been included in the team as Buttler’s replacement. The first T20 between England and Australia will be played on 11 September. After this, the second match between the two teams will be played on 13 September and the third and final match will be played on 15 September.
