Gautam Gambhir can become the next head coach of Team India.
Former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir is constantly in the headlines these days for some reason or the other. Actually, it is believed that after Rahul Dravid’s tenure ends, Gautam Gambhir will be the next head coach of the Indian team. Because of this, some news or the other keeps coming out about Gambhir every day. In this episode, once again Gambhir has come in the headlines due to one of his statements.
Gautam Gambhir got angry when he was asked about his best captain during an event recently. He answered this question by saying that this question itself is controversial and he does not want to give any headline on it. Let us tell you, Gambhir has played under the captaincy of big names like Rahul Dravid, MS Dhoni, Sourav Ganguly and Anil Kumble. He says that every captain has his own characteristics and he does not want to name any single captain.
Gautam Gambhir remained silent on the question of best captain
“This is a very controversial question. To be honest, I don’t want to give any headline on this, everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. I made my Test debut under Rahul Dravid and ODI debut under (Sourav) Ganguly,” Gambhir said during an event in Kolkata.
He said, “I played my best under Anil Kumble and also had my period under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. I played under MS for the longest time. I really enjoyed playing with MS and the way he led the team.”
Gambhir, meanwhile, urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to reconsider the two new ball rule in limited-overs formats, saying on Friday that it is ‘unfair’ for finger spinners. The ICC had introduced this special rule in ODIs in October 2011.
