I have full confidence that the Indian women’s team will return after winning the T20 World Cup: S Sreesanth
S Sreesanth expressed confidence in the Indian team and said that the team led by Harmanpreet Kaur has the potential to progress in the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in 2024.
Speaking to Star Sports, he answered about India’s biggest strength in the competition-
“This team is really amazing. First of all I would like to praise the team captain. The support staff is amazing and on top of that, Amol Bhai (Majumdar), the coach, is a great guy and a great personality. So I have full confidence that the team will return after winning the World Cup.”
“I also saw the press conference, where the coach and captain Harmanpreet (Kaur) were extremely confident. Especially when he was asked about Australia, he said that if his team plays to its full potential, they can beat any team, and it is true. It’s all about belief system. I have full confidence that this team will win the World Cup.”
What is the biggest challenge for India?
“I have always believed that you should have faith in your daily routine and your work ethic. So I don’t see any challenge. There is a lot of talent in our team, from the opening batsmen to the middle order. Even lower down the order we have all-rounders who can hit sixes. So I am confident that there is no flaw or minus point in this team.”
Focus on yourself instead of others: S Sreesanth
Sreesanth, who was part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team in 2007 and ODI World Cup-winning team in 2011, advised India to focus on themselves rather than worrying about other teams.
“More than focusing on other teams, I would prefer to focus on my Indian team and not worry about any other cricket team. It’s just another batsman and another bowler coming at you. If the Indian team plays to its full potential, I do not see any challenge for them.”
