The Indian cricket team is set to return to action after a long break of 43 days. They will host Bangladesh in the much-anticipated two-match Test series. The first of the two Test matches will begin on Thursday, September 19 at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Bangladesh is coming into this tour on the back of a historic maiden Test series win against Pakistan earlier this month. However, amidst all this, Dinesh Karthik has given his different opinion about this series. He believes that the Bangladesh team will not be able to give much challenge to Team India in this series. Let us tell you that the Indian team will play a Test match after about 6 months, in such a situation India will have to stay away from Bangladesh.
“I personally don’t think Bangladesh will challenge India. Beating India at home is a huge task. Although Bangladesh have done well in Pakistan, I don’t believe they will be able to cause much trouble to India,” Dinesh Karthik said in a video on Cricbuzz.
Let us tell you that India will return to action for the first time after losing 0-2 in the ODI series against Sri Lanka last month. Rohit Sharma and company will resume their journey in the World Test Championship (WTC). Team India is currently at the top of the WTC points table and by winning this series, they will further strengthen their claim for the final. Meanwhile, after registering a win against Pakistan, Bangladesh has reached the fourth position in the WTC points table.
