However, former Vidarbha coach Chandrakant Pandit, under whose coaching Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy and Irani Trophy, believes that Faiz Fazal should have been given more opportunities in the Indian team. Not only this, the former Vidarbha coach also praised Faiz Fazal’s fielding. Let us tell you, Faiz Fazal has played only 1 ODI match for India in which he has scored 55 runs at a strike rate of 90.16.

Chandrakant Pandit told Times of India, ‘Faiz Fazal has been a tremendous player and his technique has also been excellent. The best thing is that Fazal is a very good slip player. He should have got to play some more matches for the Indian team. I have coached Vidarbha for 3 years. He always used to say that he wants to play for the Indian team.

However, after the knee injury, his body did not support him much and that is why he has announced his retirement from domestic cricket.

Faiz Fazal has been a role model for Vidarbha players: Chandrakant Pandit

Chandrakant Pandit further said, ‘Faiz Fazal has performed very well for Vidarbha Cricket and he is the best role model for the players of the team. He is a down to earth player and everyone loves him a lot.

Chandrakant Pandit further said, ‘Faiz Fazal had played an inning of 131 runs in 324 balls against Maharashtra. When I was appointed as the coach of Madhya Pradesh team, I used to tell the players there about Faiz’s innings. This was a really good innings. There was no ego in him at all. We would sometimes plan games until 11:00 at night. After this he used to drop me home and never complained about anything.
