Veteran fast bowler Stuart Broad has praised the excellent batsman Harry Brook during the first test match between England and Sri Lanka being played at Old Trafford in Manchester. Harry Brook’s performance has always been very good in international cricket. Not only this, during the match against Sri Lanka being played currently, Harry Brook scored 56 runs in 73 balls with the help of four fours in the first innings.

Stuart Broad told Sky Sports, ‘We had a very good summer. When Harry Brook was with us for the entire Test summer and I was bowling to him in practice sessions, he was playing aggressive shots against me. His shots were very similar to Kevin Pietersen who used to play explosive cricket while standing.

James Anderson and I have played with him in Yorkshire as well and I feel that he is the new Joe Root. When he came into the Test team, he had no problem with anything.

Talking about the match, Sri Lanka scored 236 runs after losing all wickets in the first innings of the first test. Captain Dhananjay de Silva played an innings of 74 runs for the team while young player Milan Rathnayake contributed 72 runs. Kusal Mendis scored 24 runs while Dinesh Chandimal returned to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs.

By the end of the second day of the game, England had scored 259 runs after losing 6 wickets in their first innings. Now on the third day, both the teams will want to dominate each other.
