Bangladesh fast bowler Ibadat Hossain was injured during the ODI series against Afghanistan at home in July 2023. But now after a gap of 14 months, he is ready to return to cricket. He was allowed to travel with the Bangladesh team for the series against India and spent time with the team.

It is noteworthy that Ibadat Hossain is going to participate in the National Cricket League of Bangladesh and he will return to the tournament with the fourth round game of Sylhet Division. His first assignment will be Sylhet’s round four match of the NCL against Khulna Division starting November 9. However, BCB chief physician Debashish Chaudhary has hinted about restrictions on the workload of the fast bowler.

“As per our plan, Ibadat is expected to play in the fourth round of the NCL and we want to see how he feels after playing competitive cricket,” Debashish was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz. This is part of the rehab process and there may be some restrictions (as far as his bowling is concerned).

Ibadat is ready to return

He (Ibadat) has to get his rhythm back and the only way to achieve that is to bowl in the matches and that is what we are focusing on at the moment. If he feels fine after bowling then it is fine but if that is not the case then he can get some time to recover and work on the areas that he needs to develop before the BPL.

Let us tell you that Ibadat Hussain has played 20 test matches for Bangladesh and has taken 42 wickets at an average of 47.14. Additionally, in 12 ODIs, he has taken 22 wickets at an average of 22.90 and a strike rate of 24.5 at an economy rate of 5.60. The Sylhet-born player has played only four T20 matches and has taken seven wickets at an average of 20 and an economy rate of 9.23.
