Next year the Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) had to cancel one of its events related to the Champions Trophy 2025, which was to be held in Pakistan. It is coming out in the reports that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. In such a situation, where the matches of Team India will be held is a big issue. ICC was to organize an event related to the tournament schedule in Lahore on 11 November, but it has now been cancelled.
According to a Cricbuzz report, an official aware of the developments after India refused to travel to Pakistan for the eight-team 50-over tournament, said, “The schedule has not been confirmed, we are still on the schedule of the Champions Trophy as the host country.” and discussing with the participating countries. “Once confirmed we will make an announcement through our normal channels.”
ICC had to cancel the Champions Trophy program
ICC had made complete arrangements for this event, because a 100-day countdown was to start before this event starting from 19th February and the event was kept in Lahore. Usually ICC does this before every major ICC event. However, scheduling issues have complicated the matter. It is also being said that this event may have been canceled due to the toxic smog prevailing over ICC Lahore city.
An official downplayed the controversy over the schedule and the event not starting on November 11, saying, “It was just a Trophy Tour flag off and tournament/branding launch. That (event) can still happen.
“However, it may be rescheduled as outdoor activities are difficult right now in Lahore (due to smog).” At the same time, a source in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that there is no event scheduled for Monday.
