The Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is an international sporting event for athletes aged 15–18 from around the world.
The Paris Olympics have concluded and now the next Olympics will be played in the year 2028. This time cricket will also be included in the Olympics to be played in Los Angeles, which is a big deal for the fans. But now the ICC has given a big hint that cricket can also be included in the Youth Olympics to be played in the year 2030. For this, the ICC is in talks with the Olympic Association.
Actually, this decision has been taken because in October last year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wanted to organize the Youth Olympics in 2030 and the Olympics in 2036. However, now India has shifted its focus to just the 2036 Olympics.
Now that the ICC has built strong ties with the IOC and the IOC believes that the “cricket brand” can enhance the “Olympic brand”, it will not be a difficult task to convince the IOC to include cricket as a core sport in the Youth Olympics.
