Chennai Super Kings has named Ravindra Jadeja as cricket ‘Thalapathy’.
Jadeja Thalapathy Title: Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played a big role in CSK’s victory. In the 22nd match of IPL 2024 held on Monday in Chepauk, Chennai bowlers restricted the Kolkata team to just 137 runs, in which Jadeja took 3 wickets for 18 runs in four overs. Jadeja’s 3 wickets laid the foundation of the team’s victory and CSK easily achieved the target and defeated KKR by 7 wickets. Jadeja received the Man of the Match award for his performance but CSK also gave him a special new name.

After the win, Jadeja was asked about the special name given to him by CSK. Like MS Dhoni is called ‘Thala’ and Suresh Raina is called ‘Chinna Thala’. On this Jadeja said that my title and name have not been decided yet, but I hope that I will also get a special name.

Chennai has named Jadeja as Cricket Thalapathi. The word Thalapathy means commander or leader. Jadeja has consistently performed brilliantly for CSK. Jadeja joined the Chennai team in 2012 and since then he has been a key player for the team.

After receiving the Man of the Match award, Jadeja said, “I always enjoy my bowling here. I was just looking to bowl in good areas. I have practiced a lot here – if you bowl in good areas, it helps you. The visiting team takes time to settle in and make some plans. It is difficult for them to come here and identify the surface.”
