The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has not yet approved Team India for the upcoming Blind World Cup. Let us tell you that the upcoming tournament is going to start from 22nd November. Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) has received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports but they will not be able to participate until the Ministry of External Affairs gives the green signal.

Pakistan Blind Cricket Council has made a big announcement regarding this. According to Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, the tournament will go ahead as planned and even if India does not reach on time, they will go ahead with it. PBCC President Syed Sultan Shah has confirmed that Pakistan had issued visas for the Indian team but the Indian government has forbidden its players to tour here.

According to India Today, Sultan said, ‘All the other teams are coming to Pakistan for the World Cup. Even if a team does not come, it will not affect our preparation. We want all the teams to participate in the upcoming tournament but no statement has been issued by the Indian government regarding the upcoming tournament.

CABI General Secretary Shailendra Yadav also expressed his view on this matter and said, ‘He has been waiting for approval from the Government of India for more than 2 weeks. He also said that when the tournament was last played, Pakistan had not toured India.

CABI General Secretary Shailendra Yadav said, ‘We have been waiting for approval for 15 days. The last time we toured Pakistan for a bilateral series was in 2014. In 2023, when this tournament was played in India, the Pakistan team had skipped it.

In the B1 category (totally blind), the team includes Ajay Kumar Reddy Illuri (Andhra Pradesh), Devraj Behera (Odisha), Nareshbhai Balubhai Tumda (Gujarat), Nilesh Yadav (Delhi), Sanjay Kumar Shah (Delhi), and Praveen Kumar Sharma (Haryana).

The B2 category (partially blind – vision up to 2 metres) players are Venkateshwar Rao Dunna (Andhra Pradesh), Pankaj Bhuye (Odisha), Lokesh (Karnataka), Rambir Singh (Delhi), and Irfan Diwan (Delhi).

In the B3 category (partial vision – vision up to 6 metres), the team includes Durga Rao Tompaki (Andhra Pradesh), Sunil Ramesh (Karnataka), Sukhram Majhi (Odisha), Ravi Amiti (Andhra Pradesh), Dineshbhai Chamedabhai Rathwa (Gujarat), and Dhinagar Gopu (Pondicherry).
