Know that the King will always be the King: Rajkumar Sharma

Virat Kohli

In the 19th match of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals faced Royal Challengers Bangalore on 6 April. Rajasthan won the toss and invited RCB to bat first. Kohli played a century of 113 runs in 72 balls and took the team’s score to 183 runs.

Rajasthan Royals, chasing the target, won the match by 6 wickets with 5 balls remaining. While everyone praised Kohli’s century, there were some people who were trolling Kohli for his century. In fact. Virat Kohli batted at a strike rate of 156.94 and scored a century in 72 balls. He completed his century in 67 balls and by doing so a record was registered in his name. Actually, this was the slowest century in IPL history. Kohli now jointly shares this record with Manish Pandey.

Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma responded to critics

Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma strongly condemned the critics who were targeting and trolling Kohli for his innings. Rajkumar Sharma expressed anger at those criticizing Kohli’s strike rate and dismissed their comments as “nonsense”. He believes that people who want attention simply follow Kohli and take advantage of his popularity.

He said, “Some people who are saying this nonsense, I think they were not able to understand the match, what was the situation of the match and how the team was struggling. They speak only to be in the news. If you talk about a normal player, it will not give any meaning. But if you speak about a player like Virat Kohli, you will remain in the headlines.”

When Rajkumar Sharma was asked about the identity of the critics, he said-

“Look, there are no cricket experts or old players, but a lobby which is running an agenda. They are just pushing an agenda, and as fans we don’t care about such things. Know that the King will always be the King. A person who even knows the ‘C’ of cricket would never do such nonsense.”
