According to Eoin Morgan, former Indian player Rahul Dravid should be given the responsibility of the new head coach of England’s limited overs cricket.
In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the England team could not secure its place in the final of this important tournament and after this the England and Wales Cricket Board removed limited overs cricket head coach Matthew Mott from his post. Marcus Trescothick has been appointed Interim Coach by the ECB but now he will have to hand over the responsibility of the head coach as soon as possible to someone who can improve the performance of the England team and at the same time he will also have his eyes on the upcoming Champions Trophy.
For quite some time now, there have been reports that former all-rounder Andrew Flintoff could be appointed as the head coach of England’s limited overs cricket, although no confirmation has been made by the English board about this yet. Recently, Eoin Morgan has named four former players who can play this important role in the coming times.

Eoin Morgan told Sky Sports, ‘You have to understand that this is the England cricket team. It is one of the most resourced cricket teams. Now it is up to Rob Key to make this role great. You have to go to the best coach in the world and he has to understand that playing this role is very important for both of us.’

Eoin Morgan further said, ‘Right now, I have Rahul Dravid, Ricky Ponting, Brendon McCullum and Stephen Fleming in my eyes. I would like to name Brendon McCullum because I believe that he is one of the best coaches in the world.’
For quite some time now, there have been reports that Jos Buttler may be removed from the captaincy of the England limited overs team. However, no confirmation has been made by the English board regarding this yet. England now has to play a limited overs series against Australia from September 11.
