Afghanistan can win the T20 World Cup 2024 tournament
Former cricketer Mohammad Kaif believes that the Afghanistan team is all set to win the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Rashid Khan-led side has won three matches in a row and has already qualified for the Super 8 by playing aggressive cricket. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran have performed well in batting while Fazalhaq Farooqi has performed brilliantly with the ball, taking 12 wickets in three matches.
Kaif said that Afghanistan is in good form and will be a tough team to beat in the current conditions. He informed that the team spent more than two to three weeks in the West Indies and they have an idea of the surface, which will help them in the remaining matches.
“Afghanistan is in good form. Their bowling is in form, where Fazalhaq Farooqi has also taken five wickets and Rashid Khan is in form. If we talk about both the openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran, they are in great form. Afghanistan is a top contender to win the World Cup in these conditions.”
“They are playing all their matches here (in the West Indies). They haven’t even been to the US. Spending two or three weeks there gives them an idea of how to bowl and bat on which pitch. They have got an idea of the conditions and their players are in form.”
