Indian opener Virat Kohli once again flopped with the bat. He lost his wicket in the second over of the innings while trying to hit a big shot against Josh Hazlewood.

Kohli tried to send the ball beyond the boundary line by playing a pull shot. But the ball did not go far and Tim David took a brilliant catch at mid-on. Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion on a duck after playing 5 balls against Australia. And while batting first in the match, India suffered the first setback at a score of 6 runs.

Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion on a duck for the second time in the history of T20 World Cup

This is the second time in the history of the T20 World Cup that Virat has been out on a duck against Australia. Earlier in the ongoing tournament, he was out on a duck for the first time in a group stage match against America.

Virat Kohli showed a great game while opening for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2024. He also won the Orange Cap by scoring 741 runs in the season. But in the T20 World Cup 2024, he has not been able to play a single big innings while opening.

In the Super-8 round, Kohli scored 24 runs against Afghanistan and 37 runs against Bangladesh. Apart from this, not a single decent innings has been seen from his bat. In the ongoing T20 World Cup, he has been able to score only 66 runs in 6 matches.
