The Indian team had a bad start, where Rohit Sharma (6), Shubman Gill (0), and Virat Kohli (6) were all dismissed by young bowler Hasan Mahmud. After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal (56) and Rishabh Pant (39) made a half-century partnership while handling the innings, but the Indian team came in trouble after losing 6 wickets for 144 runs. KL Rahul also failed to score only 16 runs.
