IND vs BAN, 1st Test: Day 3 Highlights: From Gill-Pant’s century in the second innings to Ashwin’s 3 wicket haul

IND vs BAN, 1st Test: Day 3 Highlights: The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is being played at Chepauk from September 19. By the end of the second day of the game, Team India has scored 81 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in the second innings, the team had taken a lead of 308 runs.

Today, on the third day of the game, Team India declared the second innings at 287 runs and Bangladesh has got a target of 515 runs to win. By the end of the day, the visiting team has scored 158 runs at the loss of 4 wickets.

IND vs BAN: Gill and Pant hit centuries in the second innings

By the end of the second day, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant had a partnership of 14 runs for the fourth wicket. Gill (33*) and Rishabh Pant (12*) were present at the crease. On the third day, the intention of both the players was to make the partnership bigger and play a big innings, in which both were successful.

Rishabh Pant scored the sixth century of his Test career in 124 balls and scored 109 runs in 128 balls with the help of 13 fours and 4 sixes. Pant and Gill had a brilliant partnership of 167 runs for the fourth wicket. Rishabh has also equaled MS Dhoni’s record of most centuries as a wicketkeeper-batsman.

At the same time, Shubman Gill gave a befitting reply to the critics by completing a century in 161 balls and played an unbeaten innings of 119 runs in 176 balls with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes. KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 22 runs in 19 balls and then India declared the innings at a score of 287/4.

IND vs BAN: Bumrah gave India its first success in the second innings as well

The Bangladeshi team, which came out to chase the target of 515 runs against India, got the first blow in the 17th over at a score of 62. Jaspreet Bumrah sent opener Zakir Hasan to the pavilion on 33 runs on the second ball of the over. Zakir Hasan was in a hurry to play the shot and Yashasvi Jaiswal took a brilliant catch.

Ashwin took 3 wickets by the end of the day

IND vs BAN, Ravichandran Ashwin scored a century in the first innings but he could not take a single wicket while bowling. However, in the second innings, Ashwin is wreaking havoc on his home ground. By the end of the third day, he has taken the wickets of Shadman Islam (35), Mominul Haque (13) and Mushfiqur Rahim (13). Bangladeshi captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (51*) and Shakib Al Hasan (5*) are unbeaten at the crease.
