In the first innings, Mominul Haq played an unbeaten inning of 107 runs with the help of 17 fours and one six in 194 balls for Bangladesh. At the same time, for India, Jasprit Bumrah took the maximum of 3 wickets for 50 runs in 18 overs. Mohammed Siraj, Ashwin and Akash Deep had 2-2 wickets each.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant inning of 72 runs in 51 balls with the help of 12 fours and 2 sixes. Whereas, Shubman Gill scored 39 runs in 36 balls. Rishabh Pant could not show anything special in the first innings, he was out against Shakib Al Hasan after scoring 9 runs in 11 balls.
