Rain continued to play havoc during the second Test match between India and Bangladesh being played at the Green Park Stadium with the entire play on the second day being abandoned due to inclement weather in Kanpur.

After the morning session and the second session passed without a single ball being bowled, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) abandoned the second day’s play due to rain at 2 am IST.

“Update from Kanpur. “Play on the second day has been stopped due to rain.” The picture shows the entire ground covered with cover, which shows that no play was possible on the day.”

Let us tell you that due to the delay in the start of the second day’s play due to rain, the Indian team had to leave from Green Park Stadium. The players were seen leaving the stadium in the team bus, after which it was suspected that the match would be cancelled.

India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test, first day’s play

On the first day too, play was disrupted due to rain and only 35 overs could be bowled. Bangladesh had scored 107/3 at stumps on the first day, with Mominul Haq (40*) and wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) unbeaten at the crease. Fast bowler Akash Deep (2/34) had a good start on the first day.

Fans are hopeful that the weather will improve in the remaining three days as India aim to make it to the World Test Championship final and move closer to a 2-0 whitewash against Bangladesh. The weather forecast for Sunday (September 29) looks a little promising.
