Former player Aakash Chopra has called the victory of the second Test played against Bangladesh in Kanpur as ‘historic’. According to Aakash Chopra, everyone felt that the second test would end in a draw. Let us tell you that due to rain, two and a half days of play could not be played in the second test match. However, despite this, Team India performed brilliantly and won the second test.

Not only this, with this victory, Team India won the two-match Test series by 2-0. Talking about the second Test, Bangladesh had scored 233 runs in its first innings after losing all the wickets, in response to which the hosts declared their first innings at 255 runs for 9 wickets. After this Bangladesh was all out for 146 runs in the second innings. Team India achieved the target of 95 runs by losing three wickets.

Aakash Chopra shared a video on his YouTube channel in which he said, ‘The second reason due to which this series will be remembered by everyone is that history has been made. You people will say what is the big deal in this that we defeated Bangladesh whereas they had defeated Pakistan before that. You cannot beat India because no team has been able to do that till now.

First, the way of playing has changed. We played on a pitch where the team is bowling first after winning the toss. That too with three fast bowlers. This means that you are challenging yourself. If we talk about Kanpur, only 35 overs were bowled on the first day while there was no play on the second and third days. You guys said there would be a 100% draw.

We won the match with 40 overs left: Aakash Chopra

The former player further said, ‘We won the match when 40 overs were left. Only one and a half day’s play was left and two and a half day’s play could not be played. However, despite this we registered victory. No one expected that we would win this match but we have achieved a great feat.

Regarding Rohit Sharma, Aakash Chopra said, ‘This match and series will remember the legacy of Rohit Sharma as a Test captain because without the change in mentality and confidence of the captain, this series would not have been won 2-0. Rohit Sharma captained very well and his mentality was also positive.

Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33).
