The 47th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup between India and Bangladesh (IND vs BAN) was played on 22 June at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. Let us tell you that in this match, Team India won by 50 runs on the basis of all-round performance.

Talking about the match, after losing the toss, the Indian team batted first and scored 196 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Whereas when Bangladesh came out to chase a strong target given by India, it could score only 146 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and had to face defeat by 50 runs in the match.

So, on the defeat of Bangladesh team in this match, a big statement has come from the former captain and legendary all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib says that as a unit we were short of runs.

Shakib Al Hasan gave a big statement

After Bangladesh’s defeat against India, Shakib Al Hasan told reporters – As a batting unit, we are short of runs. We scored 140 runs in the last game, and today we scored 146 runs. We should have performed better today because we had a target in front of us.

We couldn’t even show people that we were trying to chase the target today. I don’t think the team’s batting was confident, this is one area we have lacked throughout the World Cup.

Shakib further said- You have to play your best game against teams like India and Australia. I think we lack skill and power. We could not even do the basic work to put pressure on the opposing team. We are capable of scoring big runs, and played well on the last two wickets.
