Team India was all out on the second day of the match after scoring 376 runs in the first innings. The contribution of 4 batsmen was very important in this innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 56 runs in 118 balls, Rishabh Pant scored 39 runs in 52 balls, Ravindra Jadeja scored 86 runs in 124 balls and Ravichandran Ashwin scored a brilliant century of 113 runs in 133 balls. For Bangladesh, Hasan Mahmud took the maximum 5 wickets, Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets, Nahid Rana and Mehdi Hasan Miraz took 1 wicket each.
Bangladesh first innings were bowled out for 149 runs:
Bangladesh’s opening pair, which came to start the first innings, was broken by Jaspreet Bumrah in the very first over. Jaspreet Bumrah gave the team its first success by clean bowling Shadman Islam in the very first over.
After that, Akash Deep brought the team to its knees by dismissing Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque on consecutive balls in the ninth over of the innings, i.e. just before lunch. After that, one by one the other batsmen fell prey to the Indian bowlers.
Indian bowlers showed dominance at home
Half of Bangladesh’s team had returned to the pavilion at 64 runs. Ravindra Jadeja broke the partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das for the sixth wicket and after that Bangladesh’s lineup started falling apart like a pack of cards. The batsmen were unable to understand how to stop this collapse, on top of that the Indian bowlers were continuing to attack bowling one after the other.
The result was that Bangladesh team could score only 149 runs in the first innings. Siraj ended Bangladesh’s innings by clean bowling Nahid Rana. From India’s side, Bumrah took 4 wickets, Siraj, Jadeja and Akash Deep got 2-2 wickets. On the other hand, Shakib Al Hasan scored the highest 32 runs from Bangladesh’s side. India had scored 376 runs in their first innings. In this sense, Team India has a lead of 227 runs in the second innings.
