The England cricket team is currently on India tour for a five-match Test series. However, despite not having an experienced spinner in the team, England defeated host India by 28 runs in the first Test match held in Hyderabad. The English team had only one experienced spinner in Jack Leach, while Rehan Ahmed played one match before the Hyderabad Test and this was the debut match for Tom Hartley.

On the other hand, now a big statement has come out from the head coach of England cricket team Brendon McCullum regarding the introduction of new spin bowlers in the team. On giving opportunity to spin bowlers in the team, McCullum has said that when Australia’s great spinner Nathan Lyon made his debut for the team, he too did not have the experience of playing many matches.

Brendon McCullum gave a big statement

Let us tell you that while defending the decision of giving a chance to spin bowlers in the first Test match against India, McCullum was quoted by News 18 as saying – We should not forget this because I think it is a valid point. When Nathan Lyon was selected in the Australia cricket team, he had played very little first class cricket. At that time his average was around 40.

McCullum further said- When you see people like this (spin bowlers), you think how good they are. You think they will play according to the situation. This selection is like choosing a horse. You just have to support your decision.

On the other hand, if we tell you about the India vs England Test series, after winning the first Test match, England has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. So now the second test match between the two teams will be played in Visakhapatnam from 2nd February. It will be worth seeing how Team India performs in this match.
