Ravichandran Ashwin gave India its first success by sending Ben Duckett to the pavilion (35 runs) in the 12th over. Ashwin had dismissed Jack Crawley (20 runs). Ravindra Jadeja had shown the way to the pavilion to Ollie Pope (1 run) and Joe Root (29 runs).
