Team India’s star batsman Shubman Gill gave a sensational performance in the second test of the current series against England. The 24-year-old Gill was facing severe criticism from critics due to his poor form. However, Gill once again displayed his class and scored 104 runs in 147 balls and gave a befitting reply to all the critics. Thanks to the same innings of Gill, India set a target of 399 runs for England to win.

Due to his poor form, his place in the Test team was also in danger. Gill had not scored more than fifty in 12 innings, but finally completed his century after a poor run of form. However, seeing the way Gill celebrated after this century, it seemed that he was feeling more relief than happiness with this innings.

talking to the press Shubhman Gill said that, “I felt the job was not done. So it was a quiet celebration. I was thinking one ball at a time, obviously a lot was happening in and around the crease, a few wickets fell, then me and Shreyas did well. Partnership and decided that if the ball is there to be hit, we will hit, otherwise we will keep trying to rotate the strike.”

Furthermore, Shubman Gill said that the support he received from captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid helped him a lot to get back in good mood and score his third Test century. Gill said, “The support I got from Rohit bhai and Dravid sir was fantastic and also from the batting coach…he has always inspired me.”

Let us tell you that, chasing the target of 399 runs to win the second test, England scored 194 runs at the loss of six wickets till the lunch break of the fourth day. England still needs 205 runs to win.
