Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar is unhappy with the performance of KS Bharat in the first two matches of the Test series being played against England. Sanjay Manjrekar believes that the young wicketkeeper batsman has not yet been able to leave his mark in this Test series.

Sanjay Manjrekar has appealed to the selectors to look at such an option who can play an important role with batting also. Let us tell you, KS Bharat has so far scored 41 runs, 28 runs, 17 runs and 6 runs in the two tests against England.

Sanjay Manjrekar told ESPNcricinfo today i.e. on 8th February, ‘It looks like Bharat is playing his first series. He has played before also. He played all four Test matches against Australia and Rishabh Pant can also make a comeback in the Indian team very soon. He is still not 20 years old and India can include Kishan in the team in place of KS.

I don’t see Bharat’s place in the Indian team. It is true that everyone should get a chance but when Rishabh Pant recovers, no one else will be able to take his place.

India must look for an alternative to KS Bharat: Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar further said, ‘India will definitely have to look at the alternative to KS Bharat. Till now the performance of this young player has not been good in international cricket. Yes, his wicketkeeping has been very good but he has not been able to leave his mark with batting. If you look at other players around the world, they are capable of playing an important role with the bat as well as wicket-keeping.

You can see that Rishabh Pant himself has played an important role with the bat in the last three to four years. And now it is very important for the team management also to think about this.
