Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that Jasprit Bumrah should take a break from cricket during IPL 2024, if needed, instead of taking rest in any of the three remaining Test matches between India and England. Needed

With 15 wickets, Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker for both teams in the first two Tests and was named Player of the Match for taking nine wickets in the second match. In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra was asked who would replace Bumrah in the Indian XI if he is rested.

Responding to this he said, “I would say that he will not rest at all. Honestly speaking, he should not be given any rest either, although many people do not agree with me on this point. He says that Bumrah should be rested and kept in the team because he is the most important player of the team.

The former opening batsman further said, “I agree with all this but ultimately, a cricketer has to play. You have to play the Test match because you are absolutely gold dust and we don’t want to play without you. This is what I believe. if you want you IPL I can rest, it’s absolutely fine.”

Meanwhile, today the selector has announced Team India for the remaining three test matches. Jasprit Bumrah has once again been made the vice-captain for these three matches. Whereas Virat Kohli is out of the entire series. Apart from this, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have returned to the team.
