England spinner Rehan Ahmed will not join the team during the fourth Test against India in Ranchi. Due to personal reasons, Rehan Ahmed is leaving the India tour midway and returning home. England Cricket gave this information before the start of the Ranchi Test and also said that the replacement of Rehan Ahmed will not be announced. Rehan Ahmed was a part of England’s playing XI during the first three Test matches of the series.

England Had announced the playing XI a day before for the fourth test match starting today in Ranchi and Shoaib Bashir was included in the playing XI in place of Rehan. Rehan has taken a total of 11 wickets in six innings of three Test matches in this series. Rehan is only 19 years old and has played four test matches for England so far.

England Cricket has also issued an official statement stating that Rehan Ahmed will not participate in the remaining series. The visiting team will not announce any replacement player for the final Test in Dharamsala. Rehan played his debut test match on the Pakistan tour. In the absence of Jack Leach, Rehan Ahmed, the most senior player in the spin department, had played all the three matches of the series so far and had taken 11 wickets and also scored some runs with the bat in the lower order. The bowler faced a visa issue ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, but the issue was resolved in time.

Before the start of the series, batsman Harry Brook also withdrew citing personal reasons. Talking about the Indian team, top order batsman Virat Kohli could not be a part of this series due to the birth of his second child. Whereas KL Rahul is out of the last three matches due to injury.
