KL Rahul was out of the third test match due to injury.
Former Team India cricketer Aakash Chopra feels that India should play Sarfaraz Khan before Devdutt Padikkal in the third Test against England. The important third match of the five-match series will be played in Rajkot from Thursday, February 15. Shreyas Iyer was dropped from the team for the remaining matches and KL Rahul was also ruled out of the third Test due to injury. In such a situation, the debut of either Sarfaraz or Padikkal is expected.
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra admitted that Padikkal has been in great form recently. However, he argued that Sarfaraz should be given priority before the Karnataka batsman (Devdutt Padikkal).

Aakash Chopra Said that, “Either Sarfaraz or Devdutt Padikkal will make his debut. The simple answer to the question is that it should be Sarfaraz because he has been scoring runs for a long time. It is not that Devdutt Padikkal has not been scoring runs for a long time.”
The former opener further said, “If you look at this season separately, there is no one in better form than Devdutt Padikkal. This is the right time to give a chance to someone, but Sarfaraz had come into the team before him, just like Rajat Patidar had come before him. You gave a chance to Patidar first. So it is your duty to play Sarfaraz in this match.”
Sarfaraz has scored 3912 runs in 45 first class matches at an excellent average of 69.85. Padikkal’s performance has not been that good, he has scored 2227 runs in 31 first class matches this year at an average of 44.54, including four centuries.
