However, despite having uncapped Devdutt Padikkal in their team, India may reportedly give Rajat Patidar another chance for the fifth Test against England in Dharamsala. A BCCI source was quoted by the Indian Express as saying,“The team wants Patidar to get another chance because they feel Patidar has the talent and it is only a matter of time before he scores runs. Since India has already won the series, the team wants to try Devdutt Padikkal once more instead of giving him a debut.
BCCI had recently announced that KL Rahul has not yet fully recovered from his quadriceps injury and will not be able to play the last Test of the series. Due to Rahul’s absence, Patidars have been getting more opportunities and the same can be seen in Dharamshala.
