After the lunch break on the first day, Devon Conway completed his half-century in 109 balls by hitting a four on the very first ball of the 32nd over bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. In this over of Bumrah, Conway scored 12 runs by hitting three fours.

Ashwin dismissed Devon Conway

Ravichandran Ashwin then gave the third blow to New Zealand by dismissing Devon Conway. Devon Conway played an inning of 76 runs in 141 balls with the help of 11 fours. After taking the wicket of Conway, Ashwin (531*) has become the seventh bowler to take the most wickets in Test cricket, leaving behind Nathan Lyon.
