Gill and Pant scored brilliant half-centuries

After the first day’s play, Shubman Gill (31*) and Rishabh Pant (1*) were present at the crease unbeaten. On the second day, both the batsmen played brilliantly and scored half-centuries. Both Gill and Pant completed their half-centuries in the 30th over bowled by Ish Sodhi. Shubhman Gill scored a half-century in 66 balls and Rishabh Pant scored a half-century in just 36 balls. This is the seventh half-century of Gill’s Test career and the 19th half-century of Pant.

IND vs NZ: 96 run partnership between Gill and Pant for the fifth wicket

Rishabh Pant was out LBW to Ish Sodhi on the third ball of the 38th over and India got the fifth blow at the score of 180. Rishabh played an inning of 60 runs in 59 balls with the help of 8 fours and 2 sixes. There was a partnership of 96 runs for the fifth wicket between him and Gill.

Jadeja and Sarfaraz returned to the pavilion cheaply

Ravindra Jadeja and Sarfaraz Khan flopped in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja was out on 14 balls in 25 balls at the hands of Glenn Phillips and Sarfaraz Khan was out on a duck in 4 balls against Ajaz Patel.

Shubman Gill missed a century

Shubman Gill played a brilliant inning of 90 runs for Team India in 146 balls with the help of 7 fours and one six. He was caught by Daryl Mitchell off the ball of Ajaz Patel and missed a century, giving India its 8th blow at the score of 227.

Washington Sundar also showed his prowess in batting and played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. For New Zealand, Ajaz Patel took 5 wickets for 103 runs in 21.4 overs. Apart from these, Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips and Ish Sodhi took 1 wicket each.

IND vs NZ: New Zealand lost 3 wickets at the score of 44 in the second innings.

In the very first over of the second innings, Akash Deep bowled Tom Latham (1) and gave the first blow to New Zealand on the score of 2 runs. Ashwin took a brilliant catch

Daryl Mitchell played a shot at mid-on off Ravindra Jadeja during the 28th over. The ball was in the air and was far away from Ashwin. But Anna took a brilliant catch by running to his left and keeping his eyes on the ball. Daryl Mitchell could score only 21 runs in 44 balls. After this, Jadeja also made Tom Blundell (4) his victim.

IND vs NZ: Ashwin clean bowled Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips hit two brilliant sixes on the first and third balls of the 33rd over bowled by Ashwin. No run came on the fourth ball and then Ashwin made a comeback and clean bowled Phillips. Ashwin bowled the carrom ball, Phillips played on the wrong line and then the ball hit the stumps.

Glenn Phillips played an innings of 26 runs in 14 balls with the help of one four and 3 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja then gave the 9th blow to New Zealand at the score of 171 by dismissing Matt Henry (10) in the 44th over. By the end of the second day, Ravindra Jadeja had taken 4 wickets and Ashwin had taken 3 wickets in the second innings against New Zealand.
