Washington Sundar also showed his prowess in batting and played an unbeaten inning of 38 runs in 36 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. For New Zealand, Ajaz Patel took 5 wickets for 103 runs in 21.4 overs. Apart from these, Matt Henry, Glenn Phillips and Ish Sodhi took 1 wicket each.

Ravindra Jadeja then gave the 9th blow to New Zealand at the score of 171 by dismissing Matt Henry (10) in the 44th over.
