Let us tell you that Team India needed 147 runs to win this match but the hosts were all out for 121 runs. In this match, Ravichandran Ashwin narrowly escaped being out but he could not use this opportunity well and returned back to the pavilion after scoring only 6 runs.
Glenn Phillips, who came in the 27th over of Team India’s second innings, bowled a very good ball which was defended by Ravichandran Ashwin. In the second innings for Team India, Rishabh Pant batted brilliantly and scored 64 runs but the best player failed to lead his team to victory. Apart from Rishabh Pant, no other player could bat well for the hosts in this match. Washington Sundar scored 12 runs while captain Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs.
For New Zealand, Ajaz Patel bowled lethally and took 6 wickets in the second innings while Glenn Phillips took three wickets. With this victory, New Zealand won the three-match Test series 3-0. While on one hand Ajaz Patel won the Player of the Match award, on the other hand Will Young won the Player of the Series award.
Team India batted very poorly in this entire series due to which they had to face defeat. If we talk about Ravichandran Ashwin, in this series he could neither do wonders with batting nor with bowling.
