Gambhir will take over coaching responsibilities from Sri Lanka tour
After becoming the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir’s first and big reaction has come out today on Monday, July 22. Let us tell you that Gambhir is going to take over the responsibility of the head coach in Team India from India’s tour against Sri Lanka starting from July 27.
Gambhir’s appointment was announced by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah through a post shared on social media. On the other hand, Gambhir is going to replace Rahul Dravid in the Indian cricket team, whose tenure with the Indian team ended after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Gambhir says that he has a big place to fill.
Gautam Gambhir gave a big statement
Let us tell you that before the Indian cricket team flew for the tour against Sri Lanka, a press conference was held at the BCCI headquarters today on 22 July. In this conference, Gambhir said- I am leading a very successful team. Winner of T20 World Cup 2024, runner-up of WTC and ODI World Cup 2023. It is not that this is not a successful team, but I have a big place to fill.
It will be interesting to see how Team India is going to perform under Gambhir’s coaching now? However, Gambhir’s support staff will include Abhishek Nair and Ryan ten Doeschate, who were part of the staff that made Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) champions for the third time in IPL 2024, in the role of assistant coaches.
On the other hand, if we talk about Dravid’s tenure with Team India, under his coaching the team emerged as the number 1 team in ODI and Test cricket, while Team India became the champion of Asia Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024.
