The Indian team has to play a limited overs series against Sri Lanka from July 27
The Indian team has to play a limited overs series against Sri Lanka from July 27. Team India has also been announced for this. Suryakumar Yadav has been given the captaincy of the T20I team, while Rohit Sharma will lead the ODI series. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh has questioned the decision of the Indian selectors to exclude Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma from their respective formats for the Sri Lanka tour.
Sanju Samson scored a brilliant century in his last ODI match against South Africa in December 2023. Despite this, he was not selected in the ODI team. At the same time, Abhishek Sharma made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe and scored a century in the second match itself. However, now he has been dropped from the T20I team.
Many people found the decision to exclude Yuzvendra Chahal surprising. Because the experienced spinner was a part of India’s T20 World Cup winning team last month. But he could not play any match in the tournament. And now he has been shown the way out of the team.
Harbhajan Singh’s strong reaction
Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has reacted strongly to this. He posted after the team selection and wrote, it is difficult to understand why Yuzvendra Chahal, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma are not part of the Indian team for Sri Lanka.
It’s hard to understand why @yuzi_chahal @IamAbhiSharma4 @IamSanjuSamson are not part of the Indian Team for Sri Lanka 🙄
